I am many things.
Innovator
It all started from a patient’s need to keep his tracheostomy dry while showering to prevent pneumonia. The only tracheostomy cover available online was from America and it was extremely expensive.
I came up with a shower shield using a shampoo visor and lined it with a silicon mat to form a seal. Spending just $4 on materials, I helped my patient save hundreds of dollars.
I also created an adaptive cup handle using scrap materials for an elderly lady without fingers. She had lost her digits in her youth while working in the manufacturing industry. Seeing the smile on her face as she held up the cup with one hand to drink by herself gave me a great sense of satisfaction.
Being able to create low-cost and effective tools for others was one of my proudest moments as an occupational therapist.
Crafter
I enjoyed using preserved flowers to create terrariums and jewelry. I love seeing how the colours blend together to become a beautiful art piece.
What started as a hobby became a small business when I received my first customised order. I loved seeing the joy on my customers’ faces when they first receive the product!
I hope to eventually teach others to create their own art pieces using preserved flowers and create a space for the young and old to form bonds through craft.
Deals-finding Pro
I’m always on the lookout for the best deals - Dining, free cash, cheap furniture and clothes.
Some of my favourite apps include Taobao, Burpple Beyond and Moneysmart. I grew to love them because of how easy it was to filter to find what I want and at the same time enjoy cheap thrills from their deals and offers.
My frustrations from using these apps inspire me to create better user experiences.
